Land Acknowledgement
Acknowledgment
Idiosynchrony is a project that, though digital, is inextricably tied to stolen land.
At present, both co-creators are based out of St. Louis, MO, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Illini people. Our Contributors come from all over the United States; their homes, too, stand on histories of displacement, coercive removal, and colonization.
As a digital project, we also acknowledge the exploitative production of the devices that generate, process, distribute, and store Idiosynchrony data. The digital is physical. Projects that live online still depend on the degradation of land and labor.
We acknowledge that this acknowledgement is insufficient.
